Course Settings Overview

With the help of the ‘Course Settings’ option, you can fine-tune the courses to make them as self-sufficient as possible.

  • Course Expiration’ allows you to set a timeline for which the course stays live. After the expiration date, the course gets ‘Archived’, Archived courses are obsolete courses that are no longer required. If the need occurs in the future, one may pull them to drafts and can publish them after required modifications.

  • Reassignment’ helps the Admin configure a period in months at the end of which a course will be reassigned to a learner and all the progress made by him/her in his/her earlier attempt will be reset

  • Course Validity’  is essentially the Due Date of the course calculated from the date of assignment.  At the end of the Validity, the course does not become "invalid". It gets Overdue.
Note: When you add 10 days or 30 days within the validity date section the user has that many days to complete the training.

  • Single Reminder’ helps send reminders to the learners for the approaching deadline. It is sent once “x” number of days before the course due date.

  • Recurring Reminder’ triggers reminder Notifications and Emails to learners in periodic intervals until the learner completes the course.

  • 'Recurring Overdue Notification [Frequency]' If enabled, you can set days to send your learner a recurring reminder after the deadline has passed.

  1. Notify Course Completion:  You have the option to set up an email notification to be sent as soon as a learner completes a course.

Note: It can be both Internal or External Users.

External Users: It can be your common email id for any teams/department.

  • 'Overdue Notification End Limit' If you enable the recurring overdue Notifications, you can choose its number of occurrences when should the overdue notifications stop.

  • Course Duration’ tells the learner the length of time it will take to complete the course. Admin can also configure the duration on his own. By default, the system calculates the time period based on the course content, but Admin can manually alter the same.

  • Accessibility’ is used to determine if a course needs to be assigned by you or taken up by a learner directly from their dashboard. Other customization options are also available to limit the visibility of the course to as few or as many people as you choose. The accessibility can be both Public and Private depending on your need whether you want a set of user to have the access to the course (Private) or if it can be accessed by anyone by enabling the public access (thereby making it Public)

  1. Access to Private Trainings for Mentors: If enabled, Mentors will have access to add Private trainings in their Mentorship programs. If disabled, this Private training would not be accessible for Mentors to add to their Mentorship programs.

  • Enable ‘Public Web Link’ to make the created course accessible to people outside the organization; you can generate a shareable link. However, the progress of external learners cannot be tracked in such cases.

  • You can also re-edit the course under each category before it is published to make sure that it is perfectly ready for the learners before it is sent out.
  • Forum’ is a social learning platform. There is also a provision to Enable or Disable the Forums. If we choose to Disable, then the user will not be able to read the Posts on the forum or add / like / save the comments.

  • 'Learner Feedback' The admins can enable or disable the option for learners to give reviews and ratings for the course.
Note: Users have the option to use the star rating to rate the course between 1-5 and also add any comments.

  • 'Filling Feedback' If you keep this Mandatory, it will enforce learners to submit ratings & reviews by considering the course as incomplete unless they submit feedback for it.

  • 'E-Signature' Admins can enable the E-signatures that will require learners to authenticate and sign-off on trainings after completing them. Once enabled for a training, it can not be disabled.

  • 'Allow unenrollment' If enabled, the learners who have self enrolled to the training can unenroll from it if the training is not complete.
Note: If a training has been assigned by an Admin or Manager, the user can not unroll from the training themselves.

  • 'Allow Team Managers to View this Course' Admins can enable the option for the ''Team Managers'' to view this Course in the 'All Courses' and 'Managed Courses' sections and access the same.

  • ‘Assessment Settings’ let you set passing criteria for the course such as passing marks, optional exams, etc. It has 3 sections under it:

    • Passing Criteria - it enables you to set standards for successful completion of the course.

    • Fix Number of Attempts - this functionality allows you to determine the number of attempts a learner gets for a certain course in case of unsuccessful completion.

    • Assessment Optional - if you select ‘Yes’ the learner can choose to skip the assessment to complete the course and vice versa if you select ‘No’.

    • Complete by Order - When disabled, learners will be free to jump between questions and view previously attempted questions.

    • Manager Evaluation - Allow Managers to evaluate their reportee’s assessment.
