Creating a private forum
Admins on Learn can change the accessibility of the forum and make it available only to a specific set of users. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you make your forum private on Learn.
Creating a private forum
- Login to your admin account and go to "Forums"
- Click to create a new forum on the Forums tab.
- Add the details of the forum such as the forum title, description, and cover image.
You'll see a new option called "Accessibility", which will be set to "Public" by default. - Change the accessibility option to "Private" and then click on "Advanced Customization" to select the people and/or teams you want to make the forum available to in the popup that appears. Once the selection has been made, click on the "Save" button.
- Click on the "Save Forum" button to create the forum.

A forum will be created which will be depicted with a private label and will only be available to the people and teams you selected.
Making an existing forum private
Here's what you need to do to convert an existing public forum to a private one:
- Open the forum that you want to convert to a private forum.
- Click on the 3 dot menu at the top of the forums page and then click on 'Edit'.
You'll see a view that allows you to edit all of the forum's details and configurations. - Scroll down to "Accessibility", which would be set to 'Public'.
- Change the accessibility option to "Private" and then click on "Advanced Customization" to select the people and/or teams you want to make the forum available to in the popup that appears. Once the selection has been made, click on the "Save" button.

You can turn a private forum as public by following the same steps.
Just set the accessibility to 'Public'.
