Polls on Social Learning

Creating a poll on Auzmor Learn is a great way to engage with users on the platform and get valuable feedback on any topic. This is a guide that will give you a step-by-step guide for creating polls and will tell you everything about the various options related to it.

Here's what you can configure on polls:

  • Poll Duration - This is the duration for which the poll will accept votes from users.
  • Poll Results - The results of the poll are always visible to users once the poll ends. However, the poll results configuration allows you to control the anonymity of voters and the disclosure of results. Keeping this 'visible' will:
    • Allow all users to view the results instantly after they vote.
    • Allow users to see who voted for which option.

Keeping the above in mind, let's look at how to create polls.

Creating a Poll

Any user can create a poll by following the simple steps below:

  • Login to Learn and click on the '+' button on any forum where you want to create a poll.
You can create a poll in a training forum as well as a private forum as well.
Only people who have access to the those respective trainings & forums
will have access to the poll and be able to participate in it.
  • Enter the post title.
You'll see an option to add a poll and to add a description. If you're not adding the description box,  then the post title should be the polling question.
  • Click to add a poll. You'll be able to add the polling options. If you want to add more polling options, click on "Add more".
You can add upto 4 polling options.
  • Click on the Poll Duration drop-down to define the time for which the poll will accept votes from users.
  • Select the poll visibility based on what matches the poll's needs best.
  • Once done, click on "Add Post".

Your poll will be posted and it will be available to vote for all users who have access to the forum or training to which it was added.

Viewing results and reports for a Poll

Admins and the poll creator will always be able to see the vote count for each option in real time. They will also be able to access the list of users who have voted per option and extract a report. The report will be a CSV file that will present a list of all the participating users with the options that they voted for.

When a user casts a vote, they will instantly be able to see the present vote count for all the options if the Results are configured to be 'visible'. However, if the results are configured to be hidden, the vote results are only visible to them after the poll closes. They will also not be available to view who voted for which option if the results are configured as visible.
