Course Visibility Settings Overview
With the help of the ‘Course Settings’ option, you can view the course setting criteria that have been assigned to a course once the course is published or is in the drafts.
- ‘Course Expiration’ allows you to set a timeline for which the course stays live. After the expiration date, the course gets ‘Archived’, Archived courses are obsolete courses that are no longer required. If the need occurs in the future, one may pull them to drafts and can publish them after required modifications.
- ‘Reassignment’ helps the Admin configure a period in months at the end of which a course will be reassigned to a learner and all the progress made by him/her in his/her earlier attempt will be reset
- ‘Course Validity’ is essentially the Due Date of the course calculated from the date of assignment. At the end of the Validity, the course does not become "invalid". It gets Overdue.
- ‘Single Reminder’ helps send reminders to the learners for the approaching deadline. It is sent once “x” number of days before the course due date.
- ‘Recurring Reminder’ triggers reminder Notifications and Emails to learners in periodic intervals until the learner completes the course.
- ‘Course Duration’ tells the learner the length of time it will take to complete the course. Admin can also configure the duration on his own. By default, the system calculates the time period based on the course content, but Admin can manually alter the same.
- ‘Accessibility’ is used to determine if a course needs to be assigned by you or taken up by a learner directly from their dashboard. Other customization options are also available to limit the visibility of the course to as few or as many people as you choose. The accessibility can be both Public and Private depending on your need whether you want a set of user to have the access to the course (Private) or if it can be accessed by anyone by enabling the public access (thereby making it Public)
- Enable ‘Public Web Link’ to make the created course accessible to people outside the organization; you can generate a shareable link. However, the progress of external learners cannot be tracked in such cases.
- You can also re-edit the course under each category before it is published to make sure that it is perfectly ready for the learners before it is sent out
- ‘Forum’ is a social learning platform. There is also a provision to Enable or Disable the Forums. If we choose to Disable, then the user will not be able to read the Posts on the forum or add / like / save the comments.
